Hot Honey Roasted Chickpeas
These roasted chickpeas are a staple in my meal prep rotation. They are quick and easy to prep and they can help bring even the most boring salad to life.
Chickpeas are an excellent source of protein, healthy fats and fiber as well as essential vitamins and minerals. I love adding them to bowls and salads to get a nutrition boost.
For these roasted chickpeas, I used a local made organic hot honey but you can use whatever you would like. If you don’t have hot honey or want to skip the spice you can substitute it for raw honey as well.
I do recommend adding a drizzle of the honey after roasting to give them a glaze and to amp up the flavor.
What you need:
1 15 oz can garbanzo beans drained and rinsed
A few pinches of salt (about 1/2-3/4 tsp)
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 1/2 tbsp hot honey (option to add an extra 1/2 tbsp after roasting)
1 tbsp avocado oil
Preheat your oven to 400. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Toss all ingredients onto the baking sheet. Place in the oven for 20-25 minutes. Remove from oven. Option to toss them in the additional 1/2 tbsp hot honey. Enjoy on salads and bowls.
