Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Smoothie
This smoothie is perfect for fall mornings especially those busy mornings when you need something in a rush. I love this smoothie because it is nourishing and helps fuel your energy on those busy days.
This smoothie contains bananas which have natural sugars to supply you with clean energy. Plus it also contains cacao nibs which contain caffeine to give you an energy boost.
What you need:
8-10 oz plant based milk
1 scoop vanilla protein powder (I used this one here. It is organic, uses real ingredients and there are no added sugars)
1/4 cup pumpkin purée
1/4 cup plain yogurt (option to use plant based)
1 frozen banana
1 tbsp chia seeds
1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
2 tbsp cacao nibs (I use this one)
Ice to thicken
Directions: Blend all ingredients (minus the cacao nibs) in the blender. Add the cacao nibs at the last 15-20 seconds. Enjoy.
I recommend using frozen pumpkin purée for the best texture and taste. I store any extra pumpkin purée that is unused from pumpkin baked goods and store them in ice cube trays in the freezer to easily add to smoothies.
