3 Ways To Nourish Your Body This Fall
Fall time is the season to lean fully into nourishment. Of course nutrition is one way to nourish your body, but there are other ways to nourish your body that aren’t just about the food you eat. When it comes to full body health, it is important to focus your attention on all areas of your life. That includes how you eat, what you put into your body, how you combat stress and more. If you are consistent with what you do you will see results. And I believe it is important to have fun with the healthy habits you do. Enjoyment is one way to help you stay consistent. It is one of the reasons why I chat about creating “seasonal routines” in my health and wellness programs. I think it is important to change up your routines seasonally to help you stick to your healthy habits and to avoid boredom in your health and wellness routine. Below are 3 ways that you can nourish your body in full this fall.
spend more time outdoors
Nature is one of the best ways to nourish your body from the outside-in. Studies have been shown that nature can help produce calming effects, promote better immunity and can help relieve anxiety. When we connect to nature, so many wonderful things can happen. Fall is one of the best times of year to get outside. Plus, when you habit stack by adding on exercise activities like walking, biking or running, you will get the benefits of fitness as well. Other ways to get out in nature this fall include a picnic in the park, spend time gardening, apple picking, explore a new town going on a fall hike heading to a local farmers market or heading to a farm for fall festivities and more!
focus on seasonal fruits
Fall is the time of year to heal your body after a summer spent in the sun. It’s a time to rehydrate and replenish. It is also a time for turning inward and nourishing our skin and digestive systems with warm meals like soups, chilis, fall tray bakes, etc. Luckily nature knows just what we need which is why foods like winter squash, sweet potatoes, brussels sprouts, apples and kale are ready to harvest come fall time. These foods are filled with everything we need to replenish our skin after summer time and nourish our digestive systems to boost our immunity for colder months. I recommend going to a local farmers market and picking out fresh, local, seasonal produce to enjoy.
turn towards a routine
Fall calls for us to turn to our routines. Virgo season is after all the season for structure. Use this time of year to start creating your fitness routine and your nutrition routine to help you start reaching your goals. Since the temperature is cooling and you might be feeling called to cozy up at night, I recommend finding a self care routine at night time. Having a routine that you are consistent with can help you to reach your health and wellness goals. I love self care activities like reading, having a mini spa night or working on my favorite hobby while watching a fall themed show or movie.
