Mango Banana Smoothie Bowl Plus Greens
This is one of my go to smoothie bowls for getting in lots of vitamin C and greens!
I love adding Mango to smoothies because it adds so much sweetness and is high in Vitamin C + A + K. These vitamins are essential for a healthy as well as brighter glowing skin.
I also love adding Banana to smoothies because it sweetens it up more and helps thicken the smoothie especially when frozen. Bananas are full of potassium which is great for post workout recovery as well as helps to regulate water content in your cells which can help keep your skin from drying out.
I add greens to my smoothies to up the fiber intake to keep my body full and satiated plus it also contributes to healthy glowing skin and better energy.
What you need to make this smoothie:
Ingredients (Serves 1):
1 frozen banana
Ice to thicken
1 scoop of vanilla protein powder
1 handful of spinach or kale
1/2 cup frozen mango
1-2 tsp chia seeds
6-8 oz of plant milk or coconut water*
Directions: Add all ingredients to a high speed blender or food processor. Blend till smooth. Pour into a bowl and add your favorite toppings. I added peanut butter, sliced banana, hempseed and granola to mine.
*When using liquid in a smoothie bowl, start off with a smaller amount. This will help create an ice cream consistency. You will need to be patient as you blend as it can take a few minutes. I use a Vitamix for this as it works best. If you want this to be a smoothie that you can sip from a cup, just gradually add more liquid as needed.
