What I Am Looking Forward To In 2021

I think we can all agree that 2020 was a rollercoaster. A lot of things happened in my life in 2020: I traveled to Aruba, spent time with loved ones, lived in three different states and three different time zones in 5 months, stayed indoors more than I ever have before and A LOT of self discovery happened. Any "goals" I had set for 2020 honestly went out the window. I don't remember what my goals were for 2020, and I am not sure if I was able to reach those goals due to everything that happened.

Now that I am aware that ANYTHING can happen in life, I am a little more intentional and realistic with my expectations for myself and my plans.

The number one thing that I am looking forward to this year is finally getting married. Bobby and I got engaged in December of 2019. Our original date is for June 2021 and luckily our plans are still in motion (with the exception of some changes we have to make because of the pandemic). We are so excited to finally be married and continue our journey of life together. Knowing that things this year may still not be back to normal, we are adjusting our plans. We have back up plans created for our wedding day and we have back up plans in place for our honeymoon. If you are in the planning process or recently engaged, I highly recommend having back up plans in place for everything! Knowing that we have back up plans in place, reassures me that even if things don't go as planned we will still have the best wedding day and honeymoon possible. It has also kept me from stressing out. If you want a deeper look into some of my wedding planning process check out my Wedding Planning Part 1. Not only are Bobby and I getting married, but we also have A LOT planned in the next year as a couple like starting to prepare for purchasing our first home together and SO much more!

Another thing that I am looking forward to this year is moving! If you're new around here, Bobby and I moved from our hometown in Boston, Massachusetts to Phoenix, Arizona in 2017. In June of 2020, we moved to Albuquerque and then in September of 2020 we moved to upstate New York. A LOT of moving around, but this year we are planning for our move back to the warm sun (indefinitely). We are really excited to begin a new chapter of our lives this year!

I am also excited to begin a new chapter in my career as well! This year, I will officially be a certified holistic health coach! I have been studying at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition since July of 2020 and I am excited to finally finish up the program this summer! I will finally be able to help others reach their health and wellness goals (a long time dream of mine). I am still figuring out where I feel that I am called to take my health coaching practice! I am hoping that as I wrap up the health coaching program, that the universe will guide me in the right direction (which could be in the form of one on one coaching, a podcast, a book etc.). My dream is to help as many people as possible succeed in their health and wellness goals!

I am also excited because I am creating my first ever E-BOOK! While I cannot share at the moment what exactly my e-book is about or when it will be released, but I know that you are going to LOVE it! Stay tuned for more details later this year!

Another thing that I am excited about is continuing my hormone balancing journey. For the past 5 months I have been on the path of balancing my hormones and I am excited to continue following that path into 2021. A few things I am doing are changing my diet, fitness routine and lifestyle to fit into each phase of my cycle. I am eating certain foods during each phase to optimize each phase. I am also changing my fitness routine to match the energy I feel during each phase. I also am changing how I work and play during each phase of my cycle. I will share a blog post on this topic at a later date (because honestly there is so much to share).

I am also looking forward to being more organized. This is a top goal of mine. All of my organization went out the window in 2020 (mostly because of moving around so much). So this year I am working on organization. My plans include keeping an organized planner. I will also be organizing my work day routines efficiently (Mondays- blog day, Tuesday- recipe day, Wednesday- e-book day, etc.). I also plan on keeping an organized home! Once we settle into our new home, I am planning on keeping it organized (kitchen, office and bathroom).

I am also excited to organize my daily routines. My morning routine has been thrown off entirely in 2020. I used to have a solid morning routine: wake up early, run, walk with my dog, workout, breakfast, coffee, meditation, etc. I am really excited to get back into that routine.

Finally, I am excited to get back into healthy habits which includes taking care of my body and mind. I am excited to get back on track with my healthy eating habits, workouts and begin therapy again. I am also going to be nourishing my body and mind through more yoga and meditation.

This time in life is so unknown. If there is one piece of advice I can give you, it is to take a look at your life in 2020 and write down what you wish you could have told yourself in March (pre-pandemic). You may have tried something similar before like writing a letter to your younger self or writing a letter to the future you. I love this idea so much. If there is one thing I wish I could have told myself before the pandemic, it would have been to stay focused on bettering myself and stay organized. Another piece of advice I have, is that if you are planning anything such as a wedding, shower, vacation, buying a home etc., have a back up plan! I would have never created a back up plan in past years, but from now on I will always be creating back up plans. I saw a lot of people around us become devastated over having to cancel honeymoons, weddings and vacations. If I have learned anything from this year it is to always hope for the best possible outcome (because manifestation is key) but to always have it backed up with other amazing options.

What are some things that you are looking forward to in 2021?! Let me know in the comments below!

xoxo,
Kimmy
